Free Surgery & International Eye Camps

Sight-restoring surgery for people who cannot afford it — at our Karachi hospital and Primary Eye Care Centers, and in underserved regions abroad.

The Gift of Sight, Free of Charge
PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Gift of Sight, Free of Charge

For many families, cataract is not a medical problem but a financial one. Through the Free Surgery Fund, donations cover surgery and care for needy patients at Al Baseer Eye Hospital in Karachi and referred from our Primary Eye Care Centers in Kunri, Gharo and Sujawal.

Our International Eye Camps carry the same mission abroad: held in underserved regions with local partner organizations, they offer cataract surgeries and free glasses.

PATIENT JOURNEY

From Diagnosis to Recovery

Step 1

Screening & diagnosis

A patient is identified at an outreach camp, a Primary Eye Care Center or the hospital OPD.

Step 2

Eligibility check

Our welfare team confirms the patient cannot afford surgery and records their details.

Step 3

Pre-operative tests

Biometry, blood glucose and Hepatitis B & C screening help keep surgery safe.

Step 4

Surgery

Cataract surgery — typically phacoemulsification with IOL, or ECCE with rigid IOL for advanced cases — under strict safety and sterilization protocols.

Step 5

Medicines & follow-up

Medicines are provided and the patient is reviewed after surgery to protect their recovery.
